It is with immense pride that I reflect on the incredible journey of Afe Babalola Day, an annual celebration I have had the honor of single-handedly sponsoring for ten remarkable years. This initiative has not only paid tribute to a legendary figure but has also given rise to the esteemed Afe Babalola Hall of Fame at Afe Babalola University, Okemesi.

Over the years, this event has been graced by illustrious personalities, including:
– Arole Oduduwa, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi
– The late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi
– Former First Lady of Ekiti State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi
– Former Deputy Governor Professor Modupe Adelabu
– Ambassador Dr. Eniola Ajayi
*A Legacy Enduring*
Though our proposal to declare December 12 as Afe Babalola Day was not approved, I am thrilled that Ewi Ado and his Council of Chiefs have endorsed October 18 as Afe Babalola Day in Ado Kingdom. We celebrate this day with joy, commemorating Aare Afe Babalola’s remarkable contributions to humanity and national development.

I congratulate myself on initiating Afe Babalola Day and express sincere gratitude to Ewi Ado and the Council of Chiefs for their endorsement. May Aare Afe Babalola’s legacy continue to inspire generations to come!
