It was celebration galore in Oshodi Community, off Afao Road, Ado-Ekiti, as residents rejoiced over the restoration of electricity — a promise fulfilled by the People’s Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO).
The long-awaited electrification project was commissioned on Friday, with the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, representing the Governor.
Visibly overjoyed residents trooped out in large numbers, singing, dancing, and expressing gratitude for a project that has literally moved them from darkness into light.
An elderly chief in the community recalled their visit to Governor Oyebanji — even before his inauguration — to seek his intervention. “I am grateful to witness this historic day. BAO made a promise, and he kept it,” he said with emotion.
Indeed, it’s easy to see why Ekiti people fondly call him Governor Talk and Do.
