PRESS STATEMENT
RE: CONDEMNATION OF KANGAROO PRESS CONFERENCE BY NON-INDIGENES OF EKITI IN ABUJA ON THE APC CONSENSUS PRIMARY ELECTION
Our attention has been drawn to a kangaroo press conference recently held in Abuja by certain individuals who are not indigenes of Ekiti State, wherein they made false, misleading, and malicious claims regarding the just-concluded APC Governorship Consensus Primary Election in Ekiti State.
We wish to state categorically that the primary election held on Monday, October 27, 2025, was peaceful, transparent, and credible — indeed, one of the most orderly exercises in the political history of Ekiti State. The process was supervised by the APC National Chairman, witnessed by INEC officials, and widely commended by stakeholders. His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), duly emerged as the authentic and popularly endorsed candidate of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
We strongly condemn the actions of these non-indigenes and self-styled CSOs, most of whom are known affiliates of the ADC and PDP based in Abuja. They lack the moral standing or political legitimacy to interfere in the internal democratic processes of the APC in Ekiti State. We therefore advise them to steer clear of Ekiti politics and focus on addressing the crises within their own political platforms.
Let it be known that Ekiti State remains peaceful, united, and firmly behind Governor Abiodun Oyebanji. Our delegates have spoken decisively through their votes, and any attempt by outsiders to distort the democratic process or undermine the collective will of Ekiti people will be resisted. The good people of Ekiti will not tolerate such provocation or political interference.
We call on the general public to disregard the baseless and mischievous statements issued by these impostors and to continue supporting the peace, unity, and progress of our dear state under the competent and people-focused leadership of Governor Abiodun Oyebanji.
