Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration is redefining agriculture in Ekiti State with a youth-focused transformation that combines innovation, empowerment, and infrastructure.
At the heart of this revolution is the construction of ultra-modern dormitories in five strategic farm clusters across Ikere, Eporo/Emure, Iyemero, Aramoko, and Ado Ekiti. Each facility features separate hostels for 100 male and 100 female young farmers (200 bed spaces), storage facilities, round-the-clock lighting powered by solar energy and standby generators, 24-hour security posts, boreholes, and modular solar-powered irrigation systems.
Three of the clusters have already been commissioned, while the remaining two near completion.
Through this initiative, more than 5,000 youths have been actively engaged in agriculture across 13 clusters in the past three years a major milestone in the state’s “Bring Back Our Youth to Agriculture” program.
To support logistics and mobility, the state government has also provided 10 brand-new 18-seater buses.
Beyond youth-focused clusters, an additional 115 farm clusters have been established for cooperatives, communities, and associations, each spanning at least 10 hectares.
Governor Oyebanji’s comprehensive approach is positioning Ekiti as a national model for agrarian innovation creating jobs, enhancing food security, and driving inclusive economic growth across the state.
