Entrepreneurs and business leaders in Ekiti have commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his administration’s sustained support for local content development.
They described the governor’s support in the last three years as a major catalyst for business growth, stability, and enterprise expansion across the state.
The commendation was given on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti during a press briefing addressed by the Chief Executive Officer of A-Z Event Experts, Mrs Folashade Akinrinmola, ahead of the third edition of the A-Z Exclusive Entrepreneurs Dinner and Awards scheduled for March 31, 2026.
Speaking on behalf of A-Z Entrepreneurs Platform, Akinrinmola praised the state government’s deliberate policies aimed at strengthening indigenous businesses, particularly through the Bureau of Local Content and the implementation of the Local Content Law.
According to her, the initiatives have empowered local contractors and entrepreneurs, enhanced competitiveness, and created a more inclusive business environment for Ekiti-based enterprises.
“We commend the government of the day for its deliberate contribution to local content development through the Bureau of Local Content and the Local Content Law, which have significantly strengthened local contractors and businesses within the state,” she said.
The entrepreneur also specifically acknowledged Governor Oyebanji for his personal support for private sector–driven initiatives that promote enterprise development and economic growth.
She noted that the relative peace enjoyed in Ekiti State, coupled with strategic infrastructure such as the Agro-allied Airport and other ongoing development projects, has continued to ease business operations and attract investment.
Akinrimola added, ” These factors have helped position Ekiti as a friendly destination for entrepreneurs and investors, while encouraging local businesses to grow, innovate and compete favourably.”
The CEO explained that the third edition of the A-Z Entrepreneurs engagement, themed “Leading the Change,” represents a strategic evolution of the platform.
” Unlike previous large-scale summits, this year’s edition will be an invitation-only dinner designed to bring together accomplished and thriving business leaders from diverse sectors,” she said.
She explained that the exclusive gathering would host chief executives from industries including events, commerce, finance, hospitality, media, and other key sectors of the economy.
She maintained that, ” the theme, ‘Leading the Change’ reflects the responsibility placed on today’s successful business leaders to intentionally mentor, guide and reproduce the entrepreneurial spirit in the younger generation.”
As part of the event, outstanding business CEOs and organisations will be recognised across various award categories for their contributions to economic growth and enterprise development within Ekiti State.
Akinrinmola also called on government institutions, ministries, corporate organisations, and well-meaning individuals to support the initiative through partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations to ensure a successful and impactful event.
Also speaking, the lead consultant for the event, Ayodele Ayo-Akande, stated that the planned ceremony is expected to serve as a platform for networking, mentorship, recognition, and renewed commitment to local content development.
This, he said, would align with the Oyebanji administration’s vision of building a resilient, business-friendly Ekiti economy by enhancing the capacity of the local entrepreneurs in meeting the increasing demands in the industry.
