EKITI SOUTH SET FOR CHANGE AS AKOMOLAFE DECLARES AMBITION UNDER APC
A significant political development in Ekiti State, engineering professional and community advocate, Henrich Bankole Akomolafe, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1 seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
His declaration, made in Ado Ekiti, comes with the unveiling of a comprehensive agenda titled “A New Blueprint for Representation,” a policy direction he says will redefine legislative engagement and grassroots impact in the constituency.
Akomolafe’s entry into the race signals a fresh approach to representation, one that seeks to bridge the gap between governance and the everyday realities of the people. Anchored on vision, innovation, and inclusiveness, his campaign is designed to move beyond traditional political rhetoric and deliver measurable progress across communities.
At the heart of his agenda are three foundational pillars: empowering communities, driving sustainable development, and ensuring reliable representation. He emphasizes the need to invest in human capital, particularly among youths, women, and the elderly, while also creating avenues for their voices to be actively reflected in federal policymaking. According to him, representation must go beyond presence in Abuja and translate into visible, people centered outcomes at home.
In outlining his legislative priorities, Akomolafe identifies education, infrastructure, and agriculture as critical sectors that will shape his focus if elected. He pledges to strengthen the educational system through improved learning environments and scholarship opportunities, thereby sustaining Ekiti’s long-standing reputation for academic excellence. On infrastructure, he proposes accelerated rehabilitation of roads and expansion of modern utilities to stimulate commerce and improve quality of life. In agriculture, he envisions a system where local farmers are empowered with modern tools, access to quality inputs, and better market linkages to boost productivity and ensure food security.
Speaking during the unveiling of his campaign, Akomolafe framed his ambition as a collective mission rather than a personal pursuit. He stressed that his “New Blueprint” represents a commitment to depart from outdated approaches and embrace a future driven by accountability, innovation, and shared prosperity.
“Our movement is about partnership,” he said. “It is about building a constituency where every voice matters, where development is deliberate, and where representation truly reflects the hopes and aspirations of the people.”
With his campaign gaining attention among party faithful and constituents, Akomolafe is positioning himself as a candidate of ideas and action, calling on residents of Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1 to rally behind a vision he believes will usher in a new era of responsive and impactful leadership.
