RE: DISTURBING KIDNAPPING INCIDENT IN ERINMOPE EKITI, MOBA LOCAL GOVERNMENT
I, Hon. Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo, Member representing our dear constituency in the House of Representatives, have received with deep concern the distressing report of a kidnapping incident that occurred on Saturday 24th January in Erinmope Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area, where five innocent residents, including women, a pregnant woman, and a nursing mother, were abducted by armed men.
This unfortunate and condemnable act, reportedly carried out by gunmen who invaded the community and fired sporadically to instill fear, is a grave threat to the peace, safety, and well-being of our people. I strongly condemn this criminal act in its entirety.
Let me assure the good people of Erinmope Ekiti, Moba Local Government, and the entire constituency that this matter is being treated with utmost urgency. I am already in active communication with relevant security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and other security operatives, to ensure that swift action is taken to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe rescue of the abducted victims.
Efforts are being intensified to strengthen security surveillance in the area, and I will continue to work closely with security authorities to ensure that those responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice without delay.
I urge residents to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with security agencies, while avoiding the spread of unverified information that could cause panic. The safety of our people remains my highest priority.
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families at this difficult time. By God’s grace, they will return safely, and peace will be fully restored to Erinmope Ekiti and its environs.
Together, we will not allow criminal elements to disrupt our peace and unity.
