Ekiti State indigenes and residents had, in open disregard for party affiliations, prepared and anticipated this day. Artisans, market and transport unions, private sector workers and regular people on the streets have waited, anxiously, for H.E Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) to kick-off the campaigns that would lead to the June 20 gubernatorial polls.
Preparations have seen billboards adorning strategic locations, posters have been pasted on walls and handbills distributed to spread the #baotill2030 gospel and finally, the D-Day was here.
Obviously towering over and above any political program ever held in the State and making the “much talked about” endorsement event of the incumbent Governor for a second term a child’s play, today’s flag-off had every trapping of perfect planning, great execution and successful results.
Led by the Chairman, Governor’s Forum of the All Progressive Congress Party, H.E Hope Uzodimma, dignitaries at today’s event included past Ekiti State Governors, some Governors from other States, members of the National Assembly, to list just a few. The roll call was actually that of who-is-who in Ekiti State’s APC nay Nigeria.
In their regular, unmistakable street storm and triumphal entry, Congressman Bimbo Daramola and the #nitoriojoolawa team made their way into the arena, announcing their presence in the company of two giant, irresistible Gorilla mascots which attracted the attention of every Guest as they quickly became the cynosure of all eyes.
The colourful, well-attended event which signaled the commencement of the campaigns for the Ekiti State Gubernatorial election, 2026 has come and gone, leaving reverberating echoes of #BAOtill2030 and #BAOleekansi as the people prepare to resoundingly reelect the incumbent Governor for his deserved second term in office.
