CONSTRUCTION OF ITAPA- IJELU-OMU ROAD, HON. SUNDAY AFUYE CONGRATULATE OYEBANJI FOR THE GREAT FEAT

The good people of Ekiti State cannot thank Mr. Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji enough, and if there is anything Ekiti people are genuinely appreciative of, it is definitely because of BAO’s unalloyed, and deep commitment to the course of governance, and to ensuring that long-neglected communities making up the young State feel the impact of government as part of his Shared Prosperity Agenda, just as his big boss, the father figure himself, and mentor, the President of the nation, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently doing at the national level.

In just three years of purposeful leadership, Governor Oyebanji has opened up several neglected communities through provision of critical infrastructure, especially roads construction, and rehabilitation, while also not forgetting reconnecting several to the national grid.

There is no gainsaying the fact that when a community becomes accessible through good network of road, and a very dependable, and reliable power supply, it is only going to be a matter of time before such a community is emancipated economically through social development, and availability of investment opportunities for the benefit of all its sons and daughters.

The Itapa–Ijelu–Omu Road would forever be a shining example. The road link has hitherto become nightmare and death trap for both motorists and farmers which has also caused them serious hardships, economic losses, and avoidable accidents.

Our Governor, Oyebanji came to the rescue of motorists and passers-by passing through this road by giving it a face-lift via rehabilitation of the 9km road link. The road had been officially commissioned all to the happiness of everyone plying the road.

During the commissioning, residents recalled the dark days of struggling through the treacherous terrain of Oke Ayuwa and Oke Itapa, a journey they would always describe as both frustrating and dangerous.

Today, the story has changed. The road is now smooth, motorable, and become a legacy of a very responsible, and responsive leadership – the BAO-led administration. Residents expressed their unalloyed appreciation to Governor Oyebanji and described the intervention as both timely, and restoration of hope and reconnection of communities in the area to opportunities of various grades they never thought could become possible.

In his characteristical manner of display of high humility, Oyebanji, in a very special invitation, invited the immediate past governor of the State, HE Dr. Kayode Fayemi, whose administration initiated the project, to commission it, the opportunity some would have politicized unnecessarily. This again has spoken volumes about Governor Oyebanji and portrayed him as a reliable and dependable symbol of continuity in the State.
