Governor Oyebanji’s Vision Realized: Modern Upgrades Transform Ijan Ekiti General Hospital
Under Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s leadership, Ekiti State has seen significant advancements in healthcare infrastructure, particularly through the recent modernization of General Hospital in Ijan Ekiti. This initiative has equipped the facility with cutting-edge tools designed to enhance medical services and improve overall patient care across the region.
The upgrades include a range of advanced medical devices, such as a general ultrasound system with three probes, a fetal monitor CTG machine, an automated external defibrillator (AED), an anesthesia workstation, IV poles, suction pumps, a 300-watt diathermy unit, nebulizers, laryngoscopes, a bench-top centrifuge, blood count analyzers, electrolyte analyzers, point-of-care hormone analyzers, semi-automated chemistry analyzers, patient monitors mounted on trolleys for tracking vital signs, halogen examination lights on castors, phototherapy units, and reliable 24-hour solar-powered lighting systems.
These enhancements have empowered medical staff to deliver precise diagnostics and targeted treatments, resulting in superior health results for patients. Residents from nearby areas, including Iluomoba, Aisegba, Ilupeju/Ijan, and other surrounding communities, now benefit from high-standard care right in their locality, eliminating the previous necessity to journey to the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti.
Furthermore, the revamped hospital offers a more secure and welcoming atmosphere, promoting quicker healing times and higher levels of patient contentment. The improvements ensure prompt medical interventions, which have notably lowered death rates, particularly during critical emergencies, thanks to the state-of-the-art resources introduced by the administration.
