I Restored Peace, Morale, Academic Excellence to College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero Ekiti — Former Provost
Highlights remarkable achievements during five-year tenure

The immediate past Provost of the Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero Ekiti, has reflected on his five-year tenure, describing it as a period of transformation marked by peace, renewed morale, and academic excellence.
Speaking in an interview, the former Provost stated that when he assumed office, the institution was facing significant challenges — from internal discord to declining academic standards. However, through strategic leadership, staff engagement, and a clear vision for institutional growth, the college witnessed a remarkable turnaround.
> “When I came on board, morale was low and there was tension among staff and students. We made deliberate efforts to restore peace and harmony, and today, the college is recognized for its academic discipline, innovation, and productivity,” he said.
He noted that his administration prioritized infrastructure development, human capacity building, and partnerships with national and international health institutions. These efforts, according to him, enhanced the college’s reputation and strengthened its accreditation status across various departments.
Among his notable achievements were the introduction of new academic programs, the digitalization of administrative processes, improvement of staff welfare, and the creation of a conducive learning environment that boosted students’ performance in national examinations.
> “We also ensured that the college regained its rightful place among leading health training institutions in Nigeria. I am proud that we left behind a culture of excellence and accountability that others can build upon,” he added.

He expressed gratitude to the Ekiti State Government, governing council, staff, and students for their support, noting that leadership success is only possible when there is cooperation and shared purpose.
As the institution transitions to a new administration, stakeholders have continued to commend the former Provost for his outstanding contributions to the college’s development, describing his tenure as one that restored dignity and stability to the institution.
