MY ORDEAL IN THE HANDS OF TWO APC LEADERS
The events surrounding my arrest and remand over allegations of cyberbullying Senator Cyril Fasuyi may not be recent, but the narrative that has continued to circulate particularly by media platforms aligned with OLoo To Ekiti remains incomplete, selective, and one-sided. What was presented at the time as a straightforward criminal matter, I maintain, was a calculated political move driven by powerful interests within the APC.
My ordeal did not begin in the courtroom it started with a series of interactions involving Hon. Akinfasae, who positioned himself as a mediator in a matter that, to my understanding, never existed. As I explained during a YouTube interview at the time, I was contacted as early as 6:00am and asked to meet under circumstances that later became suspicious, with the meeting location changed multiple times. These developments raised serious concerns about trust and intent.
Despite this, I honoured the invitation in good faith. In that same interview, I stated that I had prior dealings with Hon. Akinfasae, including instances where I rendered financial assistance, all of which were properly documented with receipts. This makes the sudden shift in his role and posture in the matter even more questionable.
According to my account in the interview, I was informed that the purpose of the meeting was to “settle” an alleged dispute between myself and Senator Fasuyi. However, I made it clear that I was not engaged in any personal conflict with the senator.
At the heart of the matter, my position has always been simple and consistent: I repeatedly asked Senator Cyril Fasuyi one fundamental question
what exactly are his measurable achievements in Ekiti North? The developmental footprints of other senators are visible and verifiable, yet those attributed to him remain unclear or insufficiently communicated to the public. What I expected was not intimidation or legal action, but a transparent response from his media team one that would clearly outline projects, legislative impacts, and tangible contributions to the constituency. Such a response, in my view, would have addressed the concerns raised and strengthened public confidence, rather than escalate the issue into a legal and political dispute.
As I emphasized in the interview, I did not originate any defamatory narrative. Rather, I spoke based on information relayed during discussions and on my broader observations of governance. At no point did I engage in blackmail, cyberbullying, or any criminal conduct. My statements were expressions of political opinion, rooted in democratic principles that allow citizens to question and critique those in public office.
However, the version of events amplified by Oloo Ekiti media painted a different picture one that focused solely on allegations of cyberbullying, blackmail, and defamation, while deliberately ignoring my side of the story and the context behind my comments. This selective reporting contributed to a narrative that portrayed me as guilty in the court of public opinion long before due process could take its course.
The attempt to frame these legitimate concerns as criminal acts remains deeply troubling. It reflects what I consider a broader pattern where dissenting voices are targeted and suppressed under the guise of legal action. The petition that led to my arrest, allegedly filed by Senator cyril Fasuyi, appeared less about justice and more about silencing criticism.
This ordeal, though in the past, raises enduring concerns about the shrinking space for free speech and political engagement. If asking questions about governance and representation can be rebranded as cyberbullying, then democracy itself is at risk.
I continue to call for fairness, due process, and respect for constitutional rights especially the fundamental right to freedom of expression.
In the end, this is not just about one man’s voice,it is about whether truth will still be allowed to speak in a system where power feels increasing threatened by accountability.
