ONDO AG,AJULO GIVE INSIGHT TO THE REMOTE CAUSE OF THE FACE-OFF WITH AKOKO YOUTHS.
The Ondo State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General,AG, Dr.Kayode Ajulo has given insight into the remote cause of the face-off that erupted into an unruly behavior of some Akoko Youths that visited his office recently.
Dr.Ajulo through a statement personally issued explained that the Youths became unruly after he ask for clarification and legitimacy of their aforementioned program.
The AG,Ajulo issued the statement after the vital video on social media space where the Youths were seeing making inflammatory statements and also exhibiting aggressiveness and charging violently at his office corridor.
Ajulo succinctly put it that, “I cannot be coerced into contributing to demands of 22 million naira of which I seek clarity: for whom, for what purpose, and under what circumstances?
When I requested evidence of their legitimacy, I was met with actions aim at my life and tarnishing the integrity of the Attorney General’s office in Ondo State”
This occurrence has put Ondo State in a bad light as the global media is a washed with a negative reports and commentaries over an alleged face-off Between Ajulo and some Akoko Youths.
Infact,the occurrence has also attracted many globally respected activists and senior lawyers calling for indepth investigation and seeking clarification over the matter.
Ajulo on his part through the statement has expressed his fear and pains as he painstaking explained the negative impact of the Youths brash reactions and what may antecedent the saga.
The Statement read in full;
“It is with a heavy heart that I reflect upon my time as a State Counsel and legal aide to the esteemed Chief Bola Ige, SAN, when he served as the Honorable Attorney General of the Federation.
The harrowing several violations of his office, which ultimately led to his tragic murder, remain etched in my memory. This trauma lingers still.
President Tinubu must call his Minister to order; should my brother wish to contest, that is his right. Yet, I cannot remain passive while his actions threaten both my life and the stability of our State.
My resolve in the pursuit of justice is unwavering, and I shall not be swayed. I have forged my reputation long before this moment, and I stand ready to depart, for I possess other paths to follow.
I must also address a matter of great importance. While I hold in high regard the initiatives associated with ‘Akoko Youth,’ I must assert that I am under no obligation to finance every endeavor that claims to represent our community. My resources are limited, and I must prioritize my commitments and principles.
To abstain from privately sponsoring a particular event does not signify a lack of concern for the youth of Akoko.
Rather, it reflects a commitment to support initiatives that truly elevate our community, rather than allowing emotional appeals to be wielded for personal advantage. I did not withdraw from my legal practice to shoulder financial burdens masquerading as philanthropy.
In all sincerity, I have supported numerous youth initiatives in my private capacity.
