Oyebanji Applauds Guinness World Record Holder, Reaffirms Dedication to Educational Excellence

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has reiterated his unwavering commitment to transforming the state’s education sector to meet global standards and the demands of the 21st century. The Governor made this known on Monday when he hosted Mr. Anifowose Oluwaseyi, an Ekiti-born teacher who recently earned a place in the Guinness World Records for organizing the world’s largest gathering of teachers.
Receiving the education ambassador at the Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji described education as the most valuable investment any government can make in its people. He emphasized that his administration remains intentional about building a learning environment that nurtures innovation, enhances teaching quality, and promotes holistic human development.
According to the Governor, the Oyebanji administration is implementing reforms that prioritize curriculum relevance, teaching methodology, and the learning environment — the three pillars that, he said, define the future of education.
> “Our administration is deliberate about balancing infrastructure with human capital development. Through SUBEB and the Ministry of Education, we are upgrading schools, modernizing curricula to align with current realities, and prioritizing the welfare of teachers. These are crucial in preparing our students for a knowledge-driven economy,” the Governor said.
Governor Oyebanji commended Mr. Anifowose for his remarkable achievement, describing it as a testament to Ekiti’s rich intellectual heritage and the state’s deep respect for education. He noted that such feats reinforce the state’s global reputation as a hub of learning and excellence.
> “On behalf of the government and people of Ekiti State, I congratulate you for making us proud. You have not only brought global recognition to Ekiti but have also elevated the teaching profession — a calling that shapes the future of every society,” he added.
In his remarks, Mr. Anifowose expressed gratitude to the Governor for his audience and consistent support for education in the state. He explained that the world record event, which brought together over 15,000 teachers from across Nigeria and beyond, aimed to celebrate educators and amplify their role in nation-building.
He presented the Guinness World Record plaque to the Governor, dedicating the honour to all teachers who continue to inspire excellence through their selfless service.
