Service Beyond Politics: Hon. Bimbo Daramola Brings Quality Healthcare to the Grassroots
A heartfelt effort to connect governance with the real needs of the people, Abimbola Oluwafemi Daramola, representing Ikole/Oye North Federal Constituency, recently wrapped up a large-scale medical outreach across the constituency. The initiative was part of activities marking his first year in office and brought much needed healthcare services directly to communities in Oye and Ikole Local Government Areas.
Carrying the Yoruba theme “Nitori Ojo Ola Wa” meaning “Because of our tomorrow” the outreach reflected his commitment to genuine, people centered service. For many residents, the program was more than a political gesture; it was a meaningful intervention that brought relief, care, and renewed hope.
Over the course of the exercise, constituents from various wards in both local governments benefited from free medical services that are often difficult to access. Healthcare professionals carried out basic but essential checks such as blood pressure, weight, and blood sugar tests helping many detect underlying conditions like hypertension and diabetes early. Dental care and hygiene consultations were also provided, ensuring that the outreach addressed a wide range of health needs.
But beyond treatment, the program focused strongly on education. Short health talks were organized to enlighten participants on issues affecting everyday life, including managing chronic illnesses, maintaining proper hygiene, and avoiding harmful habits like drug abuse. These sessions empowered residents with knowledge to make better health decisions long after the outreach ended.
The turnout spoke volumes. From elderly men and women to young families, people came out in large numbers, filling the venues with life and gratitude. The atmosphere reflected not just effective planning, but also the trust the community has in Hon. Daramola’s leadership.
Ultimately, the outreach captured the true meaning of service where leadership goes beyond words and policies to touch lives directly. By investing in the health and well-being of his people today, Hon. Bimbo Daramola is helping to build a stronger, healthier future for the Ikole/Oye North constituency.
