BACKGROUND
The heavens smiled on the family of Pastor and Deaconess Ajibulu as they welcomes a bouncing baby boy,named Segun intp their family. His religious, royal and moral upbringing coupled with his uncommon intellectual acumen has opened doors for him infancy to this enviable height in his political journey.
*EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND*
The odyssey of Chief Segun Ajibulu started from Baptist High School, Oyin Akoko to Ekiti Baptist High School in Igede,then Doherty Memorial Grammar School,Ijero Ekiti to the prestigious Federal Higher Technical College for Textile Industries in Vienna,Austria where he earned a diploma in Textile Technology in 1983.
From there, the crossed the Atlantic to Washington DC where hi indomitable spirit earned him a Masters Degree in Business and Public Administration from the South Eastern University ,graduating as one of the best students in his set.
CAREER EXPLOITS
His determination to make impacts, coupled with his doggedness and discipline enabled him to build a career that very few people have achieved:
– Accountant Manager- Defense Mapping Federal Credit Union, USA
– Care Case Manager – New York Department of Human Services
– Economic Self-sufficiency Programme Manager- Wake County, North Carolina
– Founder, Sought-Out Financial Services Inc- Top three latgqst companies in North Carolina
From the aforementioned offices he occupied, it is obvious that his desire to serve the people is from a selfless heart, not a greedy motive.
POLITICAL HISTORY
While living abroad, SAF never forgot Nigeria. He was the:
– Co-ordinator: Diaspora support for Olu Falae’s campaign in the 90s;
– Inaugural Vice President for Ekiti Kete International Association;
– Commissioner at Ekiti State Pension Commission.
At the Zoom Meeting, SAF was asked the following questions:
(1) WHY MUST IKOLE PRODUCE THE NEXT SENATOR FROM EKITI NORTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT?
RESPONSE: Ikole has been sidelined for long. The Senators representing Ekiti North over the years have been coming from neighbouring towns,but none has come from Ikole. Moreover, my achievements over the years have dwarfed that of some Senators. Should we start from the Scholarships I have given some diligent students? Or the mentorship programmes I have organized for youths? Or the hundreds of widows and orphans that have benefited from my humanitarian activities? I am not boastful, but I can say that I have outperformed some Senators that have served Ekiti North so far!
(2) WHAT HAVE YOU ACHIEVED SO FAR IN YOUR SERVICE TO HUMANITY?
ANSWER: I have done a lot for humanity, but I will State unequivocally that:
1. I have singlehandedly sponsored at least five(5) kids from Ekiti North to study overseas
2. I have a 24/7 Free Food Services at my house. I strongly believe that the money you have in the mind is not yours until you spend it. Why not spend it on humanity? Whatever I have achieved is by the grace of God. It will be unfair of me to hoard money when many people are out there, looking for what to eat
3. I have renovated schools for Ikole Local Government. I would not be where I am today if not for quality education. If I do not invest in others through quality education, I am not been fair to posterity.
4. Free Gifts to Widows and Orphans: I have a very strong desire to make Widows and orphans happy. I have organized lots of relief programmes and activities for widows and orphans and so on.
Interestingly, doing all these consecutively gives me joy and fulfillment. However, I know I will do more if I am elected as the Senator, representing Ekiti North Constituency.
(2) WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE PEOPLE OF EKITI NORTH?
RESPONSE:
– I will collaborate with BAO-Led administration to seriously invest in Agriculture.
– I will pay attention to the youths of Ekiti North
– I will empower youths with high-income earning skills
– I will create employment opportunities for youths
– I will provide at least 200 laptops to the youths of Ekiti North so they can increase their IT skills
– I will organize seminars for youths to make them more employable
– I will provide Non-interest Loans for the people of Ekiti North so they can have funds to run their businesses
– I will meet the needs of our beloved elderly and the aged.
CONCLUSION
After a long time with Chief Segun Ajibulu Festus(SAF), the Zoom meeting came to a close with the Interview Anchor appreciating SAF for carving out time to attend the Online Interview despite his busy schedule. Chief Segun Ajibulu Festus acknowledged the company for a good job and added that he would be available when next he is invited.
