EKITI ASSEMBLY NAMES BARR. AJIBOLA AS NEW CLERK OF THE HOUSE
The Ekiti State House of Assembly has appointed Barr. Opeyemi Ajibola as its 8th substantive Clerk.
In a press statement signed by Special Adviser (Media) to the Speaker, Babajide Agbeyo on Monday, the Speaker Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, who made the announcement, said the appointment was the outcome of a rigorous selection exercise conducted among qualified senior officers of the Assembly.
According to him, the process complied fully with Section 9(1) of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Commission Law, 2022, which empowers the Speaker to appoint a Clerk from among the senior management staff of the assembly.
Barr. Ajibola succeeds Mrs. Titilope Agbede, the first indigenous female Clerk of the Assembly, who bowed out of service on October 31, 2025, after an illustrious 35-year career.
Ajibola, who had served as Clerk in an acting capacity between May 30 and August 20, 2024, was the Deputy Clerk (Legal Matters) before his new appointment.
His appointment, which is subject to confirmation by the House, takes immediate effect.
