Former Governor Fayose Denies Involvement in Ekiti State Government Contracts

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has denied allegations of being involved in government contracts in Ekiti State. Speaking at the commissioning of the Igbaraodo-Ikogosi road, which marked Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s third year in office, Fayose emphasized that he is not a contractor and does not benefit from government contracts. ¹

Fayose described Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as a friend who would assist him if needed. He stated, “My friend Wike, if I want anything won’t he give me? He is my friend.” This statement highlights the cordial relationship between the two politicians.

Fayose also pledged his support for Governor Oyebanji’s second term bid, saying, “For me and all that I represent, we are going to stand by you.” He recalled his tenure as governor, where he fought for the interests of Ekiti State, stating, “I used my tenure as governor to fight war. I fought in the morning, afternoon, and night”.
