FALSE NARRATIVE ON ARREST AT ONIKOYI HOTEL: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

The attention of the general public has been drawn to the misleading and exaggerated reports circulating about the arrest of certain individuals allegedly described as “hoodlums” at Onikoyi Hotel in Ikun, Moba Local Government Area.

For the purpose of clarity and to correct the false narrative being peddled, it is important to state unequivocally that not all the individuals mentioned in the reports were arrested at the hotel premises. The facts must not be distorted to serve any political or malicious agenda.

Those confirmed to have been at the hotel include Adekunle Stephen, Adepoju Adebayo, Boluwaji Ishola, Oluwatobi Adeoluwa, Akintunde Emmanuel, Adewale Makanjuola, and Ibitola Babatope.

Furthermore, individuals such as Abanikanda Sikiru, Dayo Ibijowo (popularly known as Ijaya), Ajayi Dele, and Adegbite Damola have been wrongly profiled and labeled. These individuals are known members of the APC structure at the state level, recognized for their commitment to party activities and peaceful political engagement. They are not, and have never been, agents of violence or disruption in any part of Ekiti State.

It is also necessary to emphasize that Ibitola Babatope and Boluwaji Ishola are media aides to Hon. Akinlayo Kolawole Davidson, MHR. They are reputable individuals of proven character, professionalism, and discipline. Any attempt to associate them with criminality or hoodlum activities is not only false but a deliberate act of character assassination.

We therefore urge the public to disregard these unfounded claims and sensationalized reports. Misinformation of this nature is capable of causing unnecessary tension and undermining the peace and political stability of our dear state.

Let it be known that those being falsely accused remain law-abiding citizens who have continually contributed to the growth of democratic values and peaceful coexistence in Ekiti State.

Truth must prevail over propaganda.

Signed:

MHR, Hon Akinlayo Kolawole Davison
