Hon. Biodun Omoleye to Distribute Relief Materials to Victims of Ijero Rainstorm Disaster Today at Owa Ajero Palace
Residents of Ijero-Ekiti affected by the devastating February 11 rainstorm disaster are set to receive relief materials today, Friday, May 15, as Hon. Biodun Omoleye, Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II (Ijero, Ekiti West, and Efon), continues efforts to support victims of the natural disaster.
The distribution exercise will take place at the Owa Ajero Palace, Ijero-Ekiti, by 4:00 PM prompt, where affected residents are expected to gather for the intervention programme.
Hon. Omoleye had earlier sympathized with victims of the rainstorm, which destroyed homes, properties, and livelihoods across parts of the community. In February, the federal lawmaker donated his widow’s mite of One Million Naira to support victims of the disaster and assured residents that their welfare remains a top priority.
Today’s distribution of relief materials forms part of ongoing efforts by the lawmaker to provide succour to affected families, while also facilitating additional support from relevant government agencies and emergency response bodies.
The programme has also received the royal blessings of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Joseph Adebayo Adewole, JP, OFR, Arojojoye II, the Owa Ajero of Ijero Kingdom.
Community leaders and residents have commended Hon. Omoleye for his timely response, solidarity, and unwavering commitment toward alleviating the suffering of victims.
