GOVERNOR OYEBANJI, FAYEMI COMMISSION ITAPA–OMU–IJELU ROAD, REAFFIRM COMMITMENT TO RURAL DEVELOPMENT

In a remarkable display of continuity and shared vision, Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, alongside former Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi, today commissioned the Itapa–Omu–Ijelu Road, a vital infrastructure linking several communities within Oye Local Government Area.

The newly commissioned road, which stands as a symbol of responsive governance and sustained partnership between successive administrations, is expected to boost economic activities, ease movement of goods and services, and enhance rural connectivity across the region.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Oyebanji expressed profound appreciation to Dr. Fayemi for laying the foundation of the project and for his continued support toward the progress of Ekiti State. He emphasized that his administration remains committed to deepening infrastructural development, especially in rural areas, as part of his shared prosperity agenda.

> “Our administration believes that no community, no matter how remote, should be left behind. This road project is a testament to our resolve to open up our rural areas for economic growth, agricultural expansion, and social integration,” the Governor said.

In his goodwill message, Dr. Fayemi lauded Governor Oyebanji for sustaining the legacy of continuity and for prioritizing people-centered governance. He described the project as another milestone that reflects the Governor’s pragmatic leadership and unwavering dedication to the development of Ekiti State.

Traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders, and enthusiastic residents trooped out in large numbers to witness the event, expressing joy and gratitude to the government for the transformation brought to their communities.

The commissioning of the Itapa–Omu–Ijelu Road marks another feather in the cap of the Oyebanji administration’s infrastructural renewal drive aimed at improving rural accessibility and promoting inclusive development across Ekiti State.
