THE VIRAL FACEBOOK LIVE VIDEO BROADCAST BY PRINCESS (MRS) FADEKEMI DAVID KELECHI: THE TRUE STORY
PREAMBLE
The attention of the National Executive Council of Ifaki Progressive Union, IPU has been drawn to a Facebook Live Video Broadcast by Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi on Friday, March 27, 2026, wherein she claimed victimization and unjustified demolition of hers and her husband’s property simply because her husband was not an indigene of Ifaki-Ekiti.
In the said video, Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi did not only launch a tirade against High Chief Babatunji Olaiya, The Olokun of Ifakiland, but also desecrated the sanctity of the Olufaki Stool and denigrated the integrity of Ifakiland with her vituperative and provocative utterances.
IPU as the umbrella body of all Ifaki Sons and Daughters at home and in the Diaspora immediately swung into action to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the unsavoury state of affairs.
FINDINGS
IPU’s findings have revealed that the Olokun Family of Ifakiland has been the beneficial owner from time immemorial of a large expanse of land situate, lying and being at Ajana, Esure Road, Ilero Quarters, Ifaki-Ekiti.
In 2014, via Suit No. HID/5/2014 Between CHIEF AJAYI MARINDOTIN & 3 ORS (FOR THEMSELVES AND ON BEHALF OF THE OLOKUN FAMILY) V. MR. OLAJIDE ADELEYE & 2 ORS, the Olokun Family had instituted an action at the High Court of Ekiti State, Ido-Ekiti Division against Mr Adeleye Olajide and two others who had illegally encroached on the said land, cut down economic trees and sold portions of the land.
Delivering Judgment in favour of the Claimants on the 26th day of July, 2016, Honourable Justice A. K. FOWE had held thus:
“Whereof the claims succeed. The following orders are made:
1. A declaration that members of the Olokun Family of Ajana, Esure Road, Ilero Quarters, Ifaki-Ekiti, Ekiti State are the rightful and exclusive owners of the 58 plots of land lying and being at NOlokun Family Land, Ajana, Esure Road, Ilero Quarters, Ifaki-Ekiti, Ekiti State and are entitled to the Customary Right of Occupancy to the said land.
2. A declaration that the encroachments, erection of buildings and clearing of claimants family land by the defendants except the 3rd defendant at Olokun family land constitute acts of trespass and is therefore unlawful and illegal.
3. Twenty million naira (N20,000,000) being general damages against the defendants for trespass, unlawful and illegal entry into the claimants’ family land and for malicious damage and destruction of economic trees, crops and farms of the Claimants family land.
4. An order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendants their agents, servants and privies from further acts of trespass into the said claimants family land.”
Despite the delivery of the Judgment which till date HAS NOT BEEN APPEALED AGAINST, the Olokun Family refrained from executing the Judgment, preferring to give individuals who had bought from the Judgment Debtors the opportunity of paying a token to the Olokun Family to regularize the purchase.
The Olokun Family not only went as far as placing jingles on the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES) Radio FM 91.5, Ado-Ekiti but also met with Kabiyesi The Olufaki of Ifakiland on not less than EIGHT (8) times to urge individuals who had bought portions of land from the Judgment Debtors to approach the Olokun Family for settlement to avoid the reclamation of such plots of land.
Lamentably, only very few people approached the Olokun Family to pay and avoid reclamation.
The said Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi and her husband’s plot of land falls within the land belonging to the Olokun Family. To make their matter worse, they purpoertedly bought the land from the Judgment Debtors in 2019 – *3 YEARS AFTER THE 2016 JUDGMENT!
Having run out of patience, on MARCH 27, 2026, the Olokun Family decided to commence the execution of the order of Court. The resultant execution of the Judgment by Bailiffs of the Court and personnel of the Nigeria Police was what Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi twisted to appear as an ethnic attack and vendetta against her husband.
OUTCOME OF THE FINDINGS
IPU’s findings have clearly revealed the following facts:
1. Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi was only crying wolf where there was none;
2. the demolition exercise of FRIDAY, MARCH 27, 2026 was the culmination of the Judgment of a Court of competent jurisdiction and had nothing whatsoever to do with IFAKI COMMUNITY or THE OLUFAKI OF IFAKILAND;
3. the demolition exercise of FRIDAY, MARCH 27, 2026 was the culmination of the Judgment of a Court of competent jurisdiction and had nothing whatsoever to do with HIGH CHIEF BABATUNJI OLAIYA, the OLOKUN OF IFAKILAND in his capacity as the OLOKUN OF IFAKILAND;
4. the Facebook Live Video Broadcast of FRIDAY, MARCH 27, 2026 by Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi was a complete misrepresentation of the facts and circumstances of what had actually transpired; and
5. the vituperation directed at IFAKILAND, the OLUFAKI OF IFAKI and HIGH CHIEF OLOKUN was unprovoked, unwarranted and baseless.
THE MEETING AT THE PALACE OF THE OLUFAKI OF IFAKILAND ON SUNDAY, MARCH 29, 2026
At a meeting held at the Palace of rhe Olufaki of Ifakiland on Sunday, March 29, 2026, Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi undertook to retract her Facebook Live Video Broadcast from all social media platforms and tender an apology to Ifaki Community and the Olufaki of Ifaki via the same media.
As we write, she is yet to do so. Rather, she has been aggravating the damage she had earlier done by posting ludicrous contents which do not reflect the spirit of what she undertook to do to undo the unjust damage she did to the integrity of Ifakiland and the sanctity of the Olufaki Stool.
CONCLUSION
Against the backdrop of the foregoing, if Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi fails/ignores/refuses to do the needful by IMMEDIATELY retracting the Facebook Live Video Broadcast of FRIDAY, MARCH 27, 2026, we will be left with no other choice to assume that her ludicrous, mendacious, sacrilegious and scurrilous attack on Ifakiland, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) John Adegbenro Falore, Ajigbade III, The Olufaki of Ifakiland and High Chief Babatunji Olaiya, The Olokun of Ifakiland was indeed a premeditated scheme aimed at achieving a dastardly goal.
In that event, regardless of who the malefactor is, IPU will not fold its hands and allow an odious, obnoxious and dangerous precedent that is better imagined than experienced be set.
To this end, we will leave no stone unturned in exploring every LEGAL avenue available to seek redress against Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi for DEFAMATION and contravention of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 and thus redeem the scarred image of the Community.
In the same vein, IPU uses this medium to implore Mr Johnson David Kelechi to desist from leveraging on his being a frontline journalist in Ekiti State to misinform the public about the instant matter and to stop making innuendoes targeted at Ifakiland and her traditional institution.
Rather than dissipate their journalistic and social media clout to unfairly besmirch the image of Ifakiland, Mr Johnson David Kelechi and Princess (Mrs) Fadekemi David Kelechi would do well to channel their energy and resources to lodge a criminal complaint against Mr Adeleye Olajide who has obviously swindled them.
In the meantime, IPU urges the general public to disregard the opportunistic and vainglorious attempt to paint a purely private transaction as a community versus stranger affair.
We equally wish to reiterate that Ifakiland is peopled by some of the most hospitable and most accommodating people on the face of the Earth.
